EuroCloud awards its European champions

They have the best product in Europe, the most successful business idea, the most successful implementation and provide the highest efficiency: five cloud services’ providers and case studies have been awarded during the EuroCloud Europe gala ceremony, held in Luxembourg on Monday October 8th. More than 50 cloud providers from twelve European countries participated. Only the companies which had won the national EuroCloud Award in their own country could apply at the European level. The ceremony took place in the context of the EuroCloud Congress, gathering executives and cloud experts from all European countries on the 8th and 9th of October.

“The services and case studies provided by the winners impressively show the range and quality of cloud services already available today across Europe”, says Bernd Becker, CEO of EuroCloud Germany_eco and vice president of EuroCloud Europe. “We are pleased that the EuroCloud Europe Awards have become an established institution within the industry”.
In each category were awarded the following companies:
• Best Cloud Service Product: PingFederate 6.6 (GB)
• Best Start Up: Zyncro (ES)
• Best Case Study Private Sector: Infopark Cloud Express (DE)
• Best Case Study Public Administration: E-Gov Portal Services (Portal Austria) (AT)
• Highest Increase in Efficiency Using Cloud Services: CE On-Demand with Integrated communication and collaboration platform based on hosted Microsoft Exchange 2010 for Hungarian Water Rescue Service (HU)
The winners of the EuroCloud Europe Awards were selected by a jury made of twelve European cloud experts. The award was presented last Monday evening as part of the EuroCloud Europe Award Gala 2012 held during the EuroCloud Congress in Luxembourg.

EuroCloud Europe Awards 2012 – Announcing The Finalists

Get ready for The Big One! The EuroCloud Europe Award Gala 2012, to be held on 8^th October 2012 in Luxembourg, will be honoring the best of the best. The outright winners of the EuroCloud Europe Awards will be revealed across all five categories that make up this year’s Pan-European Cloud Championship. For the first time, this year a new award category has been created for a Cloud user organisation demonstrating best business impact achieved by deploying cloud services.

The awards gala is part of the EuroCloud Europe Congress taking place on October 8^th and 9^th, where decision makers and cloud experts will gather from business, government and administration from all over Europe.

EuroCloud Europe Awards 2012, subdivided into its five component categories, is a league of champions. Entry is only granted to organisations already winners of their prestigious individual country EuroCloud Awards which have been contested earlier in the year.

Now the twelve-member independent jury of cloud experts, each from a different European nation have completed the first phase of their deliberations to produce the short-list of the finalists from which our champions will be crowned:

EuroCloud Congress 2013 takes place at the conference centre of the Chambre de Commerce building, located at: 7 rue Alcide de Gasperi, Luxembourg / Kirchberg – BP 1304 – L-1013 Luxembourg

BY AIR

Luxembourg airport (LUX) is served by many national airlines and is 6km east of the city. The national airline Luxair covers many European countries: http://www.luxair.lu/

Cityjet flies to/from a number of UK cities, including London: http://www.cityjet.com/

Easyjet flies from/to London and Milan since last year: http://www.easyjet.com/en

Another alternative is Ryanair, flying to Frankfurt-Hahn airport (HHN) from many European cities. This airport is around 120km from Luxembourg and is connected by a regular bus service (http://www.flibco.com/schedules/metz_lux_hahn), which takes 1h40m.

BY ROAD

Luxembourg is reached from Brussels and the North West by the E411; from Paris and the West by the A4 (E50); from Metz and the South via the E25, and from Trier and Koblenz to the East by the E44.

BY RAIL

Direct trains from Paris take just over 2 hours and Brussels around 3 hours. There are also direct trains from Bonn, Cologne, Dusseldorf and several other European cities.
